  • 545 women from 14 Arab states participated in Karama’s Beijing+15 and CEDAW+30 processes in 2010
  • 87 organizations in 11 countries engaging in national and regional partnerships with Karama in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, Palestine, Somalia and Iraq
  • 5 new countries—Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen,and Mauritania—joined Karama’s regional and international advocacy last year
  • 10 local action plans funded by Karama in Egypt,Jordan and Syria
  • 18 advocacy mechanisms engaged for improved legal rights by Karama and its partners, using human rights instruments of the UN and the League of Arab States
  • 30 articles, op-eds, broadcasts, and podcasts published in media across the Middle East, Asia, North America, Europe, and Latin America
  • 4 laws or public policies against domestic violence and discriminatory practices realized by efforts of Karama partners in Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon and Egypt
